New lightningcalendar with videoanimations 26. July 2010

New script added. The script is developed by Henkka from
Nordicweather.net. In a calender you can choose videoanimations of lightning day by day, but only if our lightningdetector has registered more than 200 strikes the choosen day. A little script saved every 2 minutes an images of our lightningmap, and when day is gone all the images are put together to a videofilm and then uploaded to the webserver. The script is runned directly on our weather-computer and is only working because we installaed a local webserver with PHP (WAMP2 Webserver). See the lightningcalendar here >> |

Global Station Map of Affiliated Weather Networks 18. July 2010

New script added. The script is written by Ken True from
saratoga-weather.org, and it shows a world map of Affiliated WEather Networks. Ken True is the person that started the private weather networks, and this has been a great success. Pt. we have 25 networks and at total of 926 memberstations - very impressive! Our own Nordic Weather Network is the biggest network with more than 200 memberstations. See the worldmap here >> |

Lightningdetector installed 29. April 2010
|
|

Today we installed a new lightningdetector (Boltek LD-250). The Boltek can register both direction and range to the strikes (aprox. 900 km. from Silkeborg) We also installed software to registr strieks, which can be seen here Lightning page We use the software Nexstorm which uploads strike data every 5 seconds to the Lightning page. We are also signed up at European Lightning Network Strikestar Thru the hole installation and setup of software - we have recieved a big amount of help from Henkka at www.nordicweather.net - we like to send him our BIGGEST greetings. |

Got the raingague heater insulated. For insulation I used bubbleplast covered with tinfoil and closed with dutchtape. It seems to work. I placed some snow in the raingauge and it melted in about 10-15 minutes. See pictures here >> |
